How to choose and install a window perch
Suction cups or sill mount? Suction-cup perches attach directly to the glass and suit most windows without tools. Sill-mounted perches rest on the window ledge and are often steadier for heavier cats. Check which type the product page describes before you order.
Prepare the glass. Suction cups hold best on smooth, clean glass. Clean it well, press each cup firmly and let the perch sit empty for a while before your cat uses it. Very cold or textured glass can reduce grip.
Respect the weight limit. Each product lists its maximum weight in Specs. Stay within it, and check the suction cups or brackets every week or two.
Pick the right window. A window with some sun and something to watch, like trees, birds or a quiet street, works best. Make sure the window can’t be opened by accident while the perch is in use, and keep screens in place.
Help your cat find it. A favorite blanket or a few treats on the new perch can help a cautious cat try it.
